Look Up! is mostly the work of full-stack designer / developer Ben Jackson. However, Ben often works alongside other designers & developers where the project requires.
About Ben
Originally from London, Ben has lived and worked in St Agnes, North Cornwall since 2019.
Ben has been a designer & developer for over 15 years, both as a solo freelancer and working in-house for various agencies and companies.
Ben is a very friendly and approachable guy so please feel free to ask him any queries you may have (there's no such thing as a silly question ☺️).

That's a tricky question to answer as every project is different but as a rough guide, a small static site might take between 1 and 4 days to design and build. A large dynamic content-managed site might take between 4 and 15(+) days to build.
Our day rate is £350 per day.
Yes. We also offer branding services. This is treated as a separate project from web design. Services include:
- Logo design
- Typography
- Colour palettes
- Brand guidelines
We do... However, they aren't an area of focus for us. They are an example of where it’s often beneficial to use templates like Shopify or Squarespace, and that's not typically our speciality.
We are open to discussing any project though. So give us a call and we'll be happy to advise. If you want to integrate a payment system, a subscription plan, booking systems into a bespoke website, or build a fancy brochure site to go alongside your online store, that’s the sort of thing we love to do.
Maybe... Site-builders like Squarespace, Wix & Webflow can be great for getting something published quickly & easily & their templates are often nicely designed.
Sometimes that's all you need and we are always honest with clients if we feel that is the best option for them.
However, there are lots of reasons why a bespoke solution can be more beneficial:
- Total flexibility in design (templates can be quite samey).
- Site load speeds & navigation are normally faster (giving better user experience and SEO performance)
- Site builders can be frustrating to learn if you are “DIYing” your site. Unless you know what you're doing it can be a false economy in terms of your time spent working on it.
- Simple brochure sites that don't get updated much built by us often work out cheaper in the long run, as our monthly charges for those are cheaper than those offered by site builders.
These days, most of our sites are built with React (though we have worked with Svelte and Vue in the past).
We use NextJS or Astro as a framework. Motion handles our animations. We typically use Wordpress or Pocketbase as a CMS and we use Supabase for more complicated database applications. We use Stripe to handle online payments.
